There is a 1779 marriage record for a James Stigler and a Milly Brown. A 1793 marriage record for a James Stigler and a Mary Benson. I see a tree with wives Milly Brown and Mary Benson. He married Catherine Stigler 15 MAY 1762 in St. Paul's Parrish, Stafford Co., VA, daughter of James Stigler and Martha “Mary” Unknown. She was born BET 1728-1740 and died 27 OCT 1828 in Fauquier Co., Virginia.

Robert Stringfellow owned two Virginia estates: "White Chimney" on the Fredericksburg-Warrington Road and "Liberty Hill" a show place of Fauquier County. He was known as "Tory Bob" because of his opposition to the Revolution.
