Susanna Smallwood
F, #4958, b. 1700, d. 1790
Parents
Birth | 1700 | In Frederick County, Maryland, British America. Her mother was 10 when she was born? According to the birth year on the marriage record, which does not have a marriage date. Some hav her born in 1725 which causes problems with being the mother of William Noland unless he has another mother or he was born later...1,2,3 |
Marriage | about 1720 | |
Marriage | after 17474,3,5 | |
Death | 1790 | At age ~90 in Fairfield County, South Carolina, United States.1,2,3 |
Misc | | Parents: Is she the mother of William Noland. Her mother was 10 when she was born? According to the birth year on the marriage record, which does not have a marriage date.1,2 |
Misc | | DNA matches - confirming but complicated. Her DNA matches are very confusing because are they with herself or are there two (related) Susanna Smallwood? I say one who was born earlier than the usual date and married two Noland men.
The "second" Susanna Smallwood, born in 1725 who married Stephen Noland, under Ledstone Smallwood, matches with children of Stephen Noland b1720. They show the second her also has a child of both Ledstone Smallwood and Scott has 7 matches with the children of Stephen: Shadrack -1 both Ledstone and Elizabeth William 6 matches... 3 both parents, 3 some other ancestors
Judy has only 1 match with no CA but it is with James b1750.
Elizabeth has the same matches |
Misc | | Two Susanna Smallwoods? Either there are two of them or people are wrong about her birth date. I have her marrying FIRST William Noland producing only our ancestor William Noland Jr. But also have her marrying the usual suspect, Stephen Noland. DNA is no help with this nor confirming the relationship. |
Misc | 20 January 1755 | Named in her father's will in Charles County, Maryland. Named as Susannah SMALLWOOD. There may be TWO Susanna Smallwood people!6 |
Residence | 1790 | In Fairfield, South Carolina, United States.7 |

Birth | 1654 | In Lancashire, England. I've seen 1654 and 1690. I have seen Lancaster, Lancashire, England and Crewkerne, South Somerset District, Somerset, England. I doubt those are the same place... I'm using Lancashire, England because in his will he names his brother Thomas, Lancashire.1,2,3 |

Death | November 1713 | At age ~59 in Baltimore, Baltimore, Maryland, British America. Wikitree has 1698 as the death year, also in Baltimore, Maryland but that cannot be so because the will was written in 1713.5,2,3 |
