Mary Thomas
F, #884, b. about 1700, d. 3 February 1780
Parents
Birth | about 1700 | In West River, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, British America. This birth date is from Colonial Families in America where Samuel Thomas and Mary Hutchins have a daughter Mary who marries John Galloway in 1718. He may have died in 1747, many years after our Mary Thomas marries Peter Tuttle Jr. Most people have her parents unknown BUT still have the birth date of Mary Thomas daughter of Samual Thomas and Mary Hutchins.1,2 |
Marriage | about 1719 | In Maryland, British America. "Peter Tuttle. Jr. (abt.1700-1733) m. Mary (born in St. Marys Co., MD)" If this is true, it excludes Mary Thomas dau of Samuel Thomas and Mary Hutchins.1,3,4,5,6 |
Marriage | after April 1733 | In Maryland, British America. |
Death | 3 February 1780 | In Stokes County, North Carolina, USA.1 |
Misc | | Parents. DNA seems to say that we are descended from Samuel Thomas and Mary Hutchins. The Sarah Thomas that we have DNA matches to does seem to be a daughter of Samuel Thomas who married Richardson. The thrulines of our match goes through RIchardsons. The same matches are with Samuel Thomas.
We actually have three matches on Sarah. One is the same between Judy and Scott and one is different. But Judy's does not have these people as CA.
Some people assign her parents as Samuel Thomas and Mary Hutchins who had a daughter Mary who marries John Galloway in 1718. He may have died in 1747, many years after our Mary Thomas marries Peter Tuttle Jr. Most people note her parents as unknown. John Galloway seems to be well documented https://www.colonial-settlers-md-va.us/getperson.php?personID=I31324&tree=Tree1
But there are serious problems with the above story. That John Galloway who died in 1747 had a wife Jane.
Note also that the Galloway guy is from the same county as Samuel Thomas, Anne Arundel, Maryland.
I also think our data or their data is bad. some have a Mary dying 3 Feb 1680 in Ann Arundel County but not who she married or any other details.
We have records for her but they entirely are composed of birth and then death. I think some people confuse two Mary Thomas people...2 |
Misc | | DNA Matches - 1 good. 6/7/2024 Judy's DNA on Dessie Anderson 1 good 13cM same as Peter Tuttle, on both parents |
Religious Affiliation | | Mary Thomas was affiliated with Quaker vs Episcopal... |
