Mary
F, #1578, b. 1719, d. 1781
She is usually named Mary Hobday but I can find no evidence for it. A suitable Hobday family does exist.
Birth | 1719 | |
Death | 1781 | At age ~62. |
Misc | | Parents: unknown. Some have her parents as Richard Hobday (1680-1781) and Mary Scherk (1684-1781) but there are other Hobdays in the area.
See this, but it doesn't make sense because he would not likely have died in Maine! This could be a brother of Mary Hobday. Richard Thomas Hobday Born 20 Feb 1715 in Abingdon, Washington, Colony of Virginia Son of Thomas William Hobday and Suzanna (Unknown) Hobday [sibling(s) unknown] Husband of Sarah (Curling) Hobday — married 1744 in Gloucester, Virginia Father of Robert D. Hobdy Sr. and John Hobday Died 1770 at about age 54 in York, York, Maine |

M, #1579, b. 1814, d. 1849
Parents
Birth | 18141 | |
Death | 1849 | At age ~35 in Washington County, Oregon Territory, United States.1 |
Misc | | Story. This story is part of the obituary of his daughter Elizabeth Jane Kimzey Kelland.
Elizabeth Jane Kimzey Kelland was born near Joplin Missouri, May 15, 1833 (May 14 on headstone) and died at Prairie City, Oregon, January 10, 1925, age 91 years, 7 months, 26 days.
Elizabeth Jane Kimzey with her father John Kimzey and his family left Independence Missouri with some other families in the year of 1847, crossing the plains with ox teams. They arrived at the Whitman Colony the last of Oct. 1847. Owing to the unrest of the Indians, her father thought it wise to leave so about 10 days before the Whitman Massacre they with one other family started to the Williamette Valley, OR. They lived at Oregon City for a time then went to Forest Grove where her father died.
In 1848 she was united in marriage to Henry L. Tucker and in 1849 they went to Sacramento where they spent one year. In 1850 they returned to Hillsboro, Oregon where she lived till 1879 when she moved to Prairie City, OR.
In 1879 She was married to James Kelland who passed away June 18, 1923.2 |
Misc | | Another story. From the findagrave of Lavinia T. Whalley, 83, who arrived in Oregon in 1847, prior to the Whitman massacre... Mrs. Whalley, whose maiden names was Lavinia Talitha Kimzey, was born near St. Joseph, Mo., October 9, 1841. She was brought to this state by the overland route, arriving in the Willamette valley over the Barlow trail, now a part of the Mount Hood loop road.3 |

Parents
Birth | about 1640 | In Probably Virginia. |
Marriage | | |
Death | 1698 | At Cople Parish in Westmoreland County, Virginia, British America. His father is said to have died in 1698 but this looks more likely to be the son James born about 1640 not the father born about 1611. I see the 1698 death date quoted a lot for James born 1611, but I think we are seeing he, the father, left orphans. |
